GPC's Products Go Into Your Food and Medicine
We know we make the best food and medical grade corn products in the world...
And we know it takes years of experience and training to create them. We have a commitment to GPC's good name, and to continuing to make the best products in the world. However, when we're locked out of our plant, and not allowed to work - we can't put our years of training to work for GPC's customers.
Because quality is important: Because of our concerns about the products made by the temporary replacement workers at GPC, members of UFCW Local 86D have written letters and distributed flyers to GPC's customers to tell them about our concerns with the replacement staffing. We understand your concerns about your food and medicine and believe a highly-skilled, experienced workforce makes the safest food and medical products in the world. Attention General Mills, Procter & Gamble, Abbott Labs and Other Customers of GPC
If you are a customer of GPC, we urge you to:
Conduct your own tests of all materials from GPC.
Inspect GPC’s plant in Muscatine, Iowa to ensure your products are made safely, cleanly, and to your specifications.
Encourage GPC to allow their most experienced and skilled workers to return to work. Every employer knows any serious commitment to quality involves a well-trained and committed workforce. GPC must allow its locked-out workers who have an average of almost 20 years of experience to return to work, and negotiate with them a fair and safe contract which provides long-term staff stability.
